MHEC DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

The Development Manager will lead fundraising, grant writing, partnership cultivation, and resource development for the Maternal Health Equity Collaborative (MHEC). The Development Manager will secure funding to sustain MHEC’s core initiatives. 

  • Fundraising & Resource Development

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy that supports MHEC’s collaborative goals and member organizations.

    • Identify, write, and manage collective grants for member organizations and MHEC-specific funding.

    • Support MHEC’s grant writing circle by facilitating meetings, gathering impact data, and submitting timely proposals and reports.

    • Build out systems to support fundraising initiatives

    Donor Engagement & Sponsorship

    • Build and maintain relationships with donors, foundations, and sponsors.

    • Design and oversee sponsorship opportunities 

    • Steward and ensure all funders receive updates, reports, and public recognition for their contributions.

    • Maintain up-to-date donor data

    Communications & Collaboration

    • Work closely with the Community Engagement Manager and Operations Manager to align messaging and impact storytelling with MHEC’s vision.

    • Contribute to newsletters, social media, and promotional materials related to development activities.

    • Provide transparent and consistent communication to the MHEC Steering Committee, Board, and Circles regarding fundraising progress, including tracking financial fundraising goals.

    • Launch fundraising event(s) and/or enhance current events to include a fundraising component.

    • Other duties as needed to support strategic plan


    • Certification, credentials or equivalent experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, grant management, communications, and/or public health.

    • 3–5 years of professional experience in nonprofit fundraising and/or grant management.

    • Strong writing, project management, and relationship-building skills.

    • Ability to adapt and work collaboratively amongst a large number of stakeholders. 

    • Demonstrated commitment to racial equity, maternal health, and community-based leadership.

    • $75,000 annual salary (Grant Funded)
