Early this year, 2021, The Maternal Health Equity Collabororative created a report for St. David’s Foundation to inform the funding strategy around the 2021 Perinatal Safe Zone Request for Proposals – Supporting Healthier Pregnancies Together.

The report outlines how Central Texas offers a variety of maternity services and maternity care – if you are well-insured or can pay out of pocket. For the uninsured and underinsured, maternity care options dramatically shrink. The Maternal Health Equity Collaborative (MHEC) produced this report identifying the equity gaps in care across Central Texas and providing recommendations to improve care and access to care for BIPOC families.
